Privacy
This website does not collect personally identifiable information from you, unless you choose to provide it by filling in a form to contact us.
Any personal information you provide is stored on computer systems within the UK and treated in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).
We also make use of mailing list services provided by MailChimp, a US-based company. Mailchimp and its parent company Intuit comply with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF). See Intuit’s data processing certification page for more information.
If you give us your contact details when enquiring about Bicycle Beano holidays, you may choose to be added to our mailing list. We may use this to send you further information about our services and other items that we reasonably think may interest you. You can tell us to stop doing so at any time and we will immediately comply.
At intervals of approximately 3 years we will check whether you wish to remain on our mailing list, unless we have heard from you in the meantime that you do wish to remain on it.
When you book with Bicycle Beano and send us pre-payment for a holiday, your payments are protected by a trust account controlled by an independent trustee. If the company becomes insolvent before you have your holiday, the trustee will refund your pre-payments. To enable this to happen, we have to share your name, contact information and details of your pre-payments with the trustee. The trustee will use this information only in connection with this duty. Details of the trustee are provided when we confirm your booking.
We will not share your personal data with any other party without your express permission. (Please don’t ask us for the contact details of someone you met on a Beano and want to get in touch with. We’re happy to pass on a message to them, but we can’t give you their details.)
We retain records of who has been on each Beano we run. This is in case of legal, regulatory or insurance issues, and to help us offer you services or accommodation suited to your preferences. Details of “dormant” customers (i.e. those who have not booked or otherwise made contact with us) will be deleted after 5 years. Whenever you book a Beano we will ask you to reconfirm your contact details to make sure that our records are accurate. We will delete any out-of-date contact information.
During Bicycle Beano tours, we may take photographs or videos for use on social media or to promote our activities in print or online. If you would prefer not to appear in these, please let us know when booking. Other participants in the tour may also take photos or video; we are unable to control what they do, though we are happy to relay any requests not to appear in photos or videos.
You may at any time ask to see any personal information we hold about you and we will comply with such a request at no charge, provided you are happy to accept it in electronic format. If you require it in paper format we may charge for the costs of production and mailing. You may also ask for data we hold about you to be deleted and we will comply provided this does not conflict with our other legal obligations.
